My Hope Unveiled

Dear Readers,

Today I choose to put excuses and fear of failure aside to share with you the hope I have found so you can experience it too.

My story is complex, layered with chapters of life experiences that could have led me to despair and hopelessness.  They are too many to share in one day so I will begin with one moment that changed the course of my life…

The moment took place in my junior year of high school.  I loved to sing and had big dreams of fame.  Babysitting, hanging with friends, participating in youth ministry were some of my favorite activities.  However, for months I had been tired and achy for no particular reason.  The pain and fatigue continued through the fall.  Finding no explainable cause, the doctor finally decided to order several tests.  Within a few days the results were in.

My mom and I drove to the doctor’s office not knowing what we would learn.  I sat on the table unaware of the seriousness of this visit.  My mom must have known.  I remember she sat on the chair with her arms hugging her purse, making pleasant conversation while we waited.  After what seemed a long period of time the door opened slowly as the doctor walked in.  He lifted his chart, as if reading it one more time, and said, “Your test results reveal that you have Lupus.”

It has been quite a journey since then, presenting many hurdles, struggles, heartache, pain, and tears.  Challenges so difficult in my humanness I would have lost hope and given up a long time ago.  The beauty in this story is how I discovered my hope through the trials and heartache and whatever you are experiencing you can have this hope too!

My purpose for My Hope Unveiled is to share with you the hope I have found.  Through personal stories, daily devotionals, and uplifting bible verses, as well as daily life activities like recipes, home decorating tips, helpful resources, and more, I will share with you how to be an over-comer, to help you find joy on your journey no matter how difficult it may be.

If you have any questions or need someone to talk to please feel free to email me at myhopeunveiled@gmail.com.   It would be my privilege to communicate with you.

Thanks again for reading my blog today!

Warmly,

Julie

The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.  Psalm 147:11

*To fear God is to recognize his awesomeness and power in light of our human frailty.  To stand in awe at how such a mighty God could even acknowledge us let alone love us with an everlasting, unconditional love.  This is the God in whom I trust.  My hope is anchored in him because of his continued faithfulness to me.
